HAPPY CNY everyone! :)

if you belong to the class of people who dont do a lot of visiting, hello to you! we'll be good friends. i find cny is starting to get boring..no one to visit, shops are closed...zzz..and to add to the list, a nothing-better-to-do dentist online who wants to compete with me who can stay up longer tonight -___- tsk.

watched kite runner with xueting today, it's a pretty good movie i'd say. it's rated 5 stars for story, a touching plot which was thankfully not over-dramatised, based on the original novel except that huge chunks were snipped out in the making of the film. nonetheless worth the $6 :) catch it if you can.

we ate at the jap restaurant at the basement of the GRANDDD (shiwei this is for you!) cathay, which has an interesting dining concept. i like. it's by far the second most exciting place i know of apart from marche/vil'age. basically there's a sushi belt which rolls out a lovely assortment of sushi&sashimi, all at 99cents per plate, and to order other food like udon/soba/don/drink/dessert, you get to take sticks and dump your sticks into the basket on your table, from which a waiter will collect and place your order. sounds confusing? it's pretty fun actually :)

as for the food, the portions are HUGE, like one bowl of mushroom udon and 5 pieces of sushi made me very very full, for about $12 inclusive of gst + svc charge. xueting took some photos, namely of her misorder of softshell crab maki (she ordered two rolls but TEN arrived instead), so i'll post them up when she sends them over. the ambience is pretty good too, soft lighting that is suitable for romantic dining but not too good if you are the sort who can't see your food properly.

alright enough about the restaurant before one day i end up doing food reviews for the press.

this new year marks a lot of new things to come, and things ive set out to do as well.
so lets pray that all falls in well in God's timing and that His will be done this new, lunar new year :)
