gender inequality is on the rise!
currently they have only 1 cabinet minister who is female..
ultrasound scans enable pregnant women to determine the sex of the baby and has resulted in large numbers of abortions (especially if they found to be girls)..in fact abortion rates in vietnam are so high that the research and social institute noted that there are about as many abortions as live births (1.35million annually).
gender inequality in certain regions have reached a skewed ratio of 135 men: 100 women, averaging about 120 men:100 women generally across vietnam.

and vietnam's greatest worry of the whole issue?
"that in future men will not be able to find wives"
