the sports carn
spent my whole afternoon chasing after small kids at the sport carnival we held for grace haven children's home today, along with many more others from my class(:
it was really tiring and frustrating at parts, but nonetheless fun
and not to mention, today served as a pretty good class bonding session too!
its occasions like these which really seem to bring out the 'big sister' in me..haha
being the younger child all my life i've never really had much opportunity to shower unconditional care and love on younger kids (apart from my og HAHA!) unless situations provide.
somehow young kids (like those below 10) has this uncanny tendency to enjoy clinging on to me..
like leaning on my shoulder while sitting down or insisting we have to hold hands and walk. haha.
they are quite cute really, albeit very very mischievious (:
anyway today marked the first cip of 2007..and my first trip back to grace haven after stopping the tuition sessions last year. kinda miss the place...the kids..who always end off by saying "promise me you'll come again okay?"
and it really hurts to lie to them that yes we'll be back but most likely not anytime soon :(
another thing which really struck me was the way the kids in my grp kept writing 'i love Jesus' everywhere..the way they all bowed their heads and said grace before dinner..
that even for such a naughty brattish bunch of kids; there's still an innate love for God within them.
and that's because God first loved them.
and how i should love them too, no matter how frustrating it was to try to gather them from station to station.
because God doesnt always give us pple who are easy to love. He places pple who are hard to love in our lives
to let the attribute of love in us grow as we choose to love these pple.
on a side note, the favourite game of the children today seemed to be 'dog and bone'
of which the 'bone' was a disgusting grass coated wet slab of SOAP.

3 cheers once more to mich, xz, jinhan (and his awesome 'hold hands' demo! LOL) for all their passion and effort placed into planning this event^^
